Welcome - who should read this!?

Welcome to the Semi-Professional Athlete blog! Here we have a space designated for those young athletes and parents of young athletes who are wanting to make it to the big stage!

But first, let me take a step back.

Elite athletes have it tough. It’s a full time job and business now, where performance pressures are dictated by lots of external factors. As a result, the players need to be optimised in every single way. If there is a way to make a player better, it’s there. This is why most elite sports clubs hire physios, massage therapists, nutritionists, psychologists and many other professionals to get their players to their peak.

Unfortunately for most semi-professional athletes, they have it tougher. There is no such support just given to you. If you’re injured, you need to find your own way to a physio. If you want to change your diet or exercise routine, you need to find your own nutritionist or strength coach.

It’s rough.

The Semi Professional Athlete blog is designed to give you tips and insights from all levels of sport, to help you get where you want to go!

Our physios have either worked with semi-professional to professional athletes, or are semi-professional athletes themselves! So who better to learn from, than those already in the trenches with you!

So keep an eye out for our posts, and make sure to keep a pen and note book handy!
